The National Business Relationship Department works directly with Luxembourg-based companies — from SMEs to large enterprises — to identify their innovation needs, connect them to the right support services and accelerate their growth. The department acts as the primary interface between the business ecosystem and Luxinnovation's programmes, funding instruments and expert networks.
Job description
As an Agrifood Innovation & Business Relationship Advisor, you will serve as the main point of contact for agrifood companies in Luxembourg, identifying their needs and contributing to the digitalisation and decarbonisation of the sector. You will work closely with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture and relevant sector-specific associations to support SMEs and large companies in their innovation journey toward sustainable agriculture and food innovation.
You will map the agrifood ecosystem, build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and ensure that companies benefit from tailored Luxinnovation services, R&D collaborations and national or European funding opportunities.

Main tasks and responsibilities
Your responsibilities are structured around Luxinnovation's four core pillars of activity:

Inspire:
• Organise and lead collaborative workgroups on decarbonisation, digitalisation and sustainable agriculture for agrifood SMEs
• Provide expert insights on agrifood innovation trends and contribute to the organisation of sector-specific events and conferences
• Stay informed about European and national market trends, food safety regulations and agrifood policies to guide organisations with a forward-thinking strategic approach
• Support marketing and communication efforts to highlight Luxembourg's agrifood innovation ecosystem and leadership in food innovation
Assess & Accelerate:
• Understand companies' innovation needs and assess how Luxinnovation's services align with their requirements
• Present a clear and complete Luxinnovation service path, offer tailored services or connect companies with other support providers
• Translate business needs into actionable strategies that accelerate the transition toward digital and sustainable practices in the agrifood value chain
Connect:
• Develop and lead a network by connecting agrifood organisations, research centres and businesses to foster innovation and collaboration
• Facilitate strategic partnerships by linking companies with the right agrifood solutions and ensuring effective service delivery through client relationship management (CRM)
• Build and nurture relationships by ensuring ongoing engagement, satisfaction and a clear overview of all ongoing activities through continuous follow-up
• Enhance collaboration by connecting stakeholders and aligning ecosystem services across the agrifood sector
Fund:
• Help companies access State aid, R&D collaborations and adoption programmes related to the agrifood sector
• Strengthen engagement with companies to enhance their access to national and European agrifood support mechanisms
• Increase the number of agrifood companies accompanied by Luxinnovation in their innovation journey
• Improve the conversion rate from initial meetings to the adoption of Luxinnovation services
• Expand outreach to new companies to raise awareness and encourage engagement with innovation funding instruments

You will act as a key bridge between national/European initiatives and the Luxembourg business ecosystem, driving innovation and sustainable growth.

Required competencies
Education level and professional experience required:
• Master's degree in engineering, agrifood sciences, business or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the agrifood sector, bioeconomy, business development, consulting or ecosystem coordination
Specific competencies:
• Strong understanding of agrifood challenges, including decarbonisation, circular economy, digitalisation and sustainable agriculture
• Deep insight into how innovative strategies and sector-specific workflows can accelerate the transition toward digital and sustainable practices
• Analytical skills to gather, document and prioritise business requirements and translate them into actionable strategies
• Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to build relationships across agrifood value chains
• Comfortable speaking in front of large audiences, engaging them effectively and tailoring presentations to specific audiences
• Adaptability in evolving environments, with a positive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to work autonomously, take initiative and drive solutions with confidence
• Dynamic, results-oriented and proactive — ready to take ownership and drive change
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Languages:
Fluency in French, English and Luxembourgish or German is required.
IT skills:
Proficiency with standard office tools (MS Office suite). Familiarity with CRM platforms is an asset.
