Job Description

The Husky BU Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for the overall continuous improvement approach in the Husky Business Unit they serve, inclusive of tactical strategy, CI event scheduling, CI event/Kaizen facilitation/progress tracking, CI training, and CI program management execution. The role ensures that there is a Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy/implementation for their BU harmonized with the Global Husky Operating System working with the BU GM and the Global Director of Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities

Deploy the Global Husky production system with associated tools attacking waste via lean methodologies and process improvement plans.
Maintain BU's CI data and update website/SharePoint repository
Prepare and lead monthly and annual CI reports.
Manage savings tracking and forecasting. Create reports to track and meet yearly CI commitments.
Actively lead key CI initiatives monthly in high impact areas focusing on process improvements and waste elimination. Emphasis is on Lean methodology, track and report progress on open events.
Manage VSM to define present state and future states. Develop associated tactical plans
Manage customer feedback methodology for internal and external customers; set associated improvement targets and plans.
Assist in root cause methodologies for critical customer situations, production efficiency and lead-time challenges in conjunction with site leadership.
Ensure BU has a yearly training plan for CI; track individual progress. Schedule needed training.
Monitor BU KPI performance to identify areas of opportunity. Apply CI to KPI's using focused approach.
Participate in BU strategic planning and yearly goal setting
Ensure visual factory standards are in place and continuously monitored.
Audit value streams for conformance to CI standards.
Ensure new hires have a formal introduction to CI during on-boarding period

Qualification

Engineering degree or equivalent experience
Ideally certified Six Sigma Black Belt with a minimum of 3 years experience using Six Sigma – LEAN Methodology principles and practices.
Minimum of 3 years experience in process reengineering, business consulting and project management.
Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., Fishbone, 5 Whys) and statistical process control (SPC).
Proven ability to lead change and motivate at all levels within the organization and to deliver business transformation results.
Proven ability to work in a matrixed, cross-functional organization with excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to influence and lead in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
Proficient in the use of various software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Strong coaching and presentation skills with superior oral and written communication skills.
Proven track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing, supply chain, or service environments.
Strong ability to identify bottlenecks and reduce waste in production processes.
Excellent leadership and coaching skills for driving cultural change on the shop floor.
Effective communication with operators, supervisors, and senior management.
Hands-on approach with a strong presence on the production floor.
Continuous improvement mindset and ability to foster employee engagement.
Results-oriented with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Fluent English
Additional language skills considered an asset
