Job Description

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for an experienced supply chain professional to lead and drive the transformation of the planning function within the Central Supply Chain of Arcelor Mittal Long Products Europe.

As Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) & Process manager, you will be responsible for setting up the planning processes, interacting with the local teams and leading the process to address the supply chain challenges identified by the management committee. The successful candidate should have extensive experience in supply chain management and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Run and develop the central SOP process with the sites, providing direction to ensure the conflicting targets of maximum value creation / customer service / working capital requirement / cost efficiency are met.
Adjust SOP with respect to changes in Sales forecast and in Production plan
Balance metal production across the sites, considering sales opportunities as well as production and transport costs.
Develop rational and propose stock targets for each activity. Validate proposed targets with central controlling.
Play a key role in the multi-year plan, in the budget and in the quarterly forecast processes.
Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly governance to ensure all key objectives are met. Identify and process internal deviations or external changes. Provide early alert to key stakeholders
Set-up a continuous improvement system to ensure progress potential is identified and triggers concrete actions which are implemented in a timely manner.
Identify best practice and develop standards across the organization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Create full transparency on supply chain processes by development and extension of reporting systems, improve their quality of data, automize reporting (e.g. in Power BI)
Set up relevant targets and track KPIs. Alert on deviations and take actions to mitigate.
Improve Supply Chain systems like reporting systems, customer support systems as well as the planning assistant tools, in coordination with Sales and IT departments.
Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders such as sales, production, finance and IT to ensure smooth and efficient operations as alignment of supply chain activities with business objectives.
Improve cost and cash benefits from optimizing/reducing old stocks and exotic orders.

Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or higher in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, preferably in the steel industry or a similar heavy manufacturing industry
Knowledge of supply chain management tools and technologies, including planning and execution systems and data warehouse & reporting systems
Proven track record in developing and implementing supply chain processes that deliver significant business results
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Understand systems infrastructure and detail of the data flows to take ownership of the reporting tools and drive systems development to support these activities
Ability to analyze large data sets and extract meaningful insights to inform decision-making
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels including executive management, and facility to navigate cultural differences in a global supply chain context
Cost & profit sensitiveness: ability to capture profit making / cost reducing opportunities and push them across the organization
Experience in managing complex projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Experience in change management, ability to drive change across an organization.
Fluency in English is essential, with additional European languages such as French and German being an advantage.
