Junior R&D Engineer (m/f)

Your mission

As a Junior R&D Engineer, you will support the development of innovative products from the initial concept through industrialization. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will progressively build your expertise in mechanical design, prototyping, testing, validation, and industrialization, while contributing to real development projects with international exposure.


Your responsibilities will include:

Product design & development

Support the development of new products and the continuous improvement of existing products

Participate in product development projects from concept, design and prototyping through testing, validation and industrialization

Create and modify 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD models

Prepare designs in accordance with customer specifications, internal requirements, manufacturing constraints, supplier capabilities and company engineering standards

Gather technical information including materials, dimensions, tolerances, interfaces and manufacturing requirements

Assist in preparing and reviewing engineering documentation, technical drawings, specifications, prototypes and samples

Perform basic engineering calculations, design reviews, tolerance analyses and technical evaluations under the guidance of senior engineers

Prototyping, testing & validation

Support prototype manufacturing and coordinate the availability of prototype parts and samples

Participate in product testing activities including test preparation, execution support, data collection and documentation of results

Assist in analyzing technical issues identified during development, testing, production or product introduction

Contribute to design optimization, standardization and cost reduction initiatives

Support product validation activities to ensure compliance with technical requirements and quality standards

Cross-functional collaboration

Work closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Product Management, Sales and suppliers throughout the development process

Provide technical information, drawings, specifications and manufacturing requirements to internal teams and external suppliers

Support supplier follow-up and prototype manufacturers when required

Participate in technical meetings, design reviews and cross-functional project discussions

Escalate technical risks or uncertainties to senior engineers whenever necessary

Documentation & continuous improvement

Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including CAD files, drawings, specifications, calculations, test reports and project records

Update technical information within SAP and other company systems where applicable

Ensure proper organization of engineering documentation according to company standards

Follow engineering procedures, quality standards and safety requirements

Continuously develop your technical knowledge through training and participation in R&D activities


Your profile

Education and technical skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related technical field

Entry-level profile or first professional experience in R&D, mechanical design, manufacturing or product development

Internship, apprenticeship or academic projects within an industrial environment are considered a strong advantage

Good understanding of mechanical design principles

Knowledge of 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD modeling

Experience with Siemens NX is highly appreciated

Basic knowledge of dimensioning, tolerancing, materials and manufacturing processes

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications

Basic understanding of prototyping, testing and validation activities is an advantage

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365

Knowledge of SAP or another ERP system is considered an asset

Fluent English is mandatory

French and/or German are considered strong assets
